Your data, handled with care.

Effective December 2025. This policy explains what information Cart It Meal Planner collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Cart It Meal Planner (“Cart It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a U.S.-based digital and e-commerce company. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile applications, our website at cartitmealplanner.com, and any related services we offer (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you provide: account details (email address, name), saved recipes, dietary preferences you choose to input, payment information processed by our payment provider, and messages you send us.
  • Information from connected services: when you connect your Kroger account, we receive only the authorization tokens needed to send items to your cart. We do not store your Kroger password.
  • Information collected automatically: device type, operating system, app version, anonymized usage events (e.g., “recipe parsed”), crash logs, and IP address.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To parse recipes, generate AI suggestions, and send your list to your Kroger cart.
  • To process subscription payments and manage your account.
  • To communicate with you about your account, product changes, and — only if you opt in — our monthly newsletter.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate (hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing), bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms.
  • Kroger, solely to deliver the items you choose to send to your cart.
  • Legal authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

5. Your choices and rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the CCPA/CPRA for California residents and similar laws in other U.S. states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to opt out of certain uses.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@cartitmealplanner.com. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

6. Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax and financial records).

7. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from your home jurisdiction.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. The “Effective Date” at the top reflects the latest version.
